Our Identity

MISSION STATEMENT

We, the members of the St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, having been led as we believe, by the spirit of God, united in a common cause to carry out the Great  Commission as stated in Matthew 28:19-20, and the Church Covenant. It shall be our aim to evangelize the lost, reclaim the wayward, restore prodigals, and to provide for the common welfare of the poor.

VISION STATEMENT

We are knowing and growing, going and showing, flowing and glowing in the light and love of Jesus Christ for all the world to see!

PURPOSE STATEMENT

We promote, practice and provide for the spiritual and holistic growth of humankind by serving God, each other and our community.

COMMITMENT STATEMENT

We will support the kingdom of God through our local congregation by generously giving of our spiritual and financial gifts to this “ministry for people on the GROW!

In 2018, Pastor Allen presented the vision God has given him –  and now us – that St. Luke would be “A Ministry for People on the Grow.” Among other things, the vision has resulted in the creation of St. Luke’s first logo based on 2 Peter 3:17-18 and Matthew 28:19-20.)

Church Colors –  Green: growth, Gold: prosperity

The letter “O” in the word grow contains the heart of our insignia.

The outer circle – represents the un-ending love of God. Its green backdrop represents life in God.

The inner circle contains the cross on a hill to remind us that the life, death and resurrection of Jesus is central in all we do. His death was the ultimate expression of His unending love for us, as well as the price He paid so we could have life and prosperity in Him.

The leaf represents GROWTH. It symbolizes how our lives flourish  – personally and collectively – when it is grounded in the unconditional love and grace of God.
